Recently, our team here at Border7 ventured over to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronic Show. In case you haven’t heard of it, it’s one of the biggest trade shows and showcases all the latest  latest in technology.

After walking tirelessly through the million of booths,

we picked two cool new innovations that we thought you guys ought to know about.

The first is the New IE9, otherwise known as Internet Explorer 9, beta. According to Microsoft executive Dean Hachamovitch, downloads have already topped 20 million.

What do we like about it?

a) It’s fast. Those of you who switched over to Chrome or Opera will be pleased to hear that IE9 now keeps up with these servers.

b)  Users can access visually rich HTML5 enabled sites

c) Scans for malware and removes warnings for good downloads while making more severe warnings for known bad downloads.

Try it.

A huge trend this year was the tablets craze.  A tablet is basically a cell phone on steroids, complete with cutting edge technology that, in most cases, combines a high definition screen, camera and of course a phone.

We liked the Motorola XOOM. It embodies the cutting edge technology that the new tablets have. Here are some fun facts about it:

1) It’s the first Android tablet to run off a 3.0 Honeycomb operating system
2) It’s also the first to connect to Google’s new mobile innovation service which offers media at anytime in an HD optimized 1o.1 inch widescreen.
3)It’s got a front and back camera. Talk about snazzy.

4) Polished user interface

Sound good? Start saving, the XOOM hits stores in February or March.
